About Us

Ross Appleyard

Ross Appleyard runs Appleyard Media a company specialising in making corporate and charity DVD’s. Prior to this Ross was a senior correspondent with Sky News for ten years. He is now happy to swap his flak jacket for a fly rod, but still travels the trouble spots of the world making news documentaries for charities such as Goal. Recently he has made a DVD for the prestigious wine company Berry Brothers and Rudd in London – not too onerous given his great love of wine! He has also made films about the history of Argyll and the fascinating area in which he now lives. To view the films go to www.appleyardmedia.co.uk and click on dvd’s – choose a film from the list and it will play without downloading. The film about Argyll is called Dalriada.

Diana Appleyard is an author and journalist – the author of six novels, all available via Transworld www.transworld-publishing.co.uk or via Amazon, www.amazon.co.uk

Appleyard Family

Diana Appleyard Novels

Her latest novel is “Too Beautiful to Dance.” Diana is also a lead feature writer for the Daily Mail, as well as writing for many women’s magazines and broadcasting on programmes such as Woman’s Hour and the Jeremy Vine show. She combines this glamorous work with mucking out two horses and walking the family’s six dogs.

Rob

Rob is the senior dog, and current holder of ‘cutest Appleyard dog’ must be Rhum, the Welsh Springer puppy.

Charlotte Appleyard is a pupil at Glenalmond College near Perth and a budding artist. No doubt she will try to sell you some of her sketches … she’ll be the one wandering around outside in pyjama bottoms and Wellingtons.

Beth Appleyard is studying Zoology at Aberdeen University and you will be honoured to catch a glimpse of her out of bed before 1pm – usually she can be found attached to her beloved skewbald horse, Flax. Both pony Strawberry and Flax love being stroked and given polo mints.

The Appleyard animal family also consists of grumpy tomcat Oreo (Lord of all He Surveys, look out for the flying paw) sweet grey cat Sooty, the ferrets Zoe and Danny, three chinchillas, a hamster and numerous chickens who all look alike and provide fresh eggs.

The Appleyards are currently writing a book together called “The Animals Went in Two by Two” which they hope will be a huge bestseller and then they can spend even more money restoring the Kirnan estate!
