Situated in five hundred acres of ancient woodland, Kirnan Beg is a luxurious and highly private wooden lodge with its own canopied hot tub and barbecue cabin. Nestling in a silent and beautiful glade, the cabin combines the pleasure of outdoor living with the finest in home comforts. Indoors, the fully-heated lodge sleeps five, with a king-size bed and three bunk beds, a shower room with underfloor heating and a twinkling ‘night sky’ ceiling, galley kitchen and living room with dining table, log burner and flat screen TV and DVD. Outdoors, there is a spacious decking area with seating for six, a fire pit and pizza oven. At night, sit out in the fairy-lit hot tub and witness the clear night sky with an unparalleled view of the stars. Listen to the sounds of the forest all around you – owls hooting and the quiet rustle of deer who walk right by the lodge – the forest is home to Red, Sika and Roe deer. You’re also likely to be visited by red squirrels and catch a glimpse of the rare pine martens and golden eagles.
Kirnan House – which also has a private honesty bar with log burner and wifi – is set in a rural glen, but is just ten minutes by car from the nearest shops, pubs and excellent restaurants. Enjoy walks through Kirnan’s ancient forest to our two private lochs, one of which has a barbecue cabin on the shoreline, with the chance to wild swim. We also have six miles of private salmon fishing on the River Add (free for guests).
This area of Mid Argyll is full of history with standing stones, castles and a fort where the kings of Scotland were once crowned. Enjoy walking, on high forest trails or by the sea, or hire bikes to cycle the Crinan Canal. Take a boat trip to one of the West Coast’s many stunning islands, or sail to the Corryvrechan whirlpool for an unforgettable sea journey.
There are many interesting places to visit with beautiful harbour villages like Tayvallich and Crinan, a wealth of ancient history and unspoilt natural beaches and coastal walks. Nearby is Loch Coille Bharr, where beavers have recently been released into the wild, attracting tourists from all over the world.
DOGS – dogs are welcome in Kirnan Beg.
